“VIT to focus on research with international collaborations to move up in world ranking” Govt. of India has recognized VIT, Vellore as an Institution of Eminence. This is a move from Gol to give autonomy to selected institutions of higher education in India, so as to encourage the institutions to take independent quality initiatives and move up in world ranking. The Chancellor of VIT, Dr. G. Viswanathan told that VIT has strategies to move up to the top 500 in the world university ranking in the next 3 years time. He also said that in World Subject Ranking, VIT has already been placed under 550 ranking in 3 subjects namely . (1) Computer Science and Information Systems, (2) Electrical and Electronics Engineering and (3) Chemistry.

The loE status, according to Dr. G. Viswanathan, will give VIT the freedom needed to introduce new innovative programmes and schemes to benefit national and international society at large. This has paved way for VIT to move up the quality ladder faster with greater efficiency. This will help in collaborating with elite institutions abroad to do high end research, to help industries and also to develop new products, in tune with “Make in India” dream project of Gol. The Chancellor of VIT mentioned that this is a recognition for VIT, for its contribution in the past, in research output, innovations introduced in academics, national and international collaborations, societal contributions through adoption of villages and free educations to district toppers in Govt. Eligibility

• a. Nationality: The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National / PIO Holder.
• b. Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2020. The date of birth as recorded in the High School Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing which, they will be disqualified.
• c. Qualifying Examination: Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2020 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2020, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
  
  i. The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
  
  ii. Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  
  iii. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  
  iv. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  
  v. As per VIT Norms, Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE. They should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
  
  vi. Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.
• d. Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination:

  i. Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  
  ii. The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) put together should be 50% for the following categories: Candidates belonging to SC/ST Community Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
  
  iii. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
  
  iv. In case, the mark statement is not produced by the candidates at the time of admission, the decision of the Management regarding his/her eligibility and admission to the programme shall be final.

• e. Subject Eligibility Criteria:
  
  1). Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying is eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree programmes
  
  2) . Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination is eligible only for B.Tech. Bio-stream Degree programmes as below, But after joining, registering for Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.

Food Court

The college Food Court is designed to cater to 1000 students & staff, it is spread over 500 square meters. The college canteen is a place where students congregate to not only eat but exchange views. Our Food Court has a modern kitchen where food is steam cooked. The washed dishes are sterilized for hygienic serving. On campus we also have an extension food court counter. Apart from the Main Canteen, the Mini Canteen also caters to the needs of students and staff and is ideally located on the other side of the campus.

Transport

The campus being 12Kms from the heart of the city and more then 20Km from suburban areas of the city, the college provides transportation facility for both students and staff.There are sufficient buses which take care of commutation of about one thousand students. There are two exclusive buses for the staff. The city metropolitan transport service also runs city buses from important areas of city to the college. Some of the BMTC route numbers are 220, 221, 222, 224, 227 etc.

Bank

An on campus banking facility is provided by Kotak Mahindra Bank. The branch is listed as Kotak Mahindra, RVCE branch. It is fully computerized and air conditioned. It caters to the need around 7000 students and staff. The ATM facility is a boon to the hostelites and faculty. The bank takes care of all the college transaction. It also provides EC facility for parents and students to pay fees, hostel charges, mess bill, University fees etc.

Post Office

The campus has a branch post office, with the postal identification as R.V. Vidyaniketan P.O. The post office with an area of around 20 sqm, has the capacity to cater to the large number of inward and outward mails on a daily basis. Post Office also offers the small savings schemes.

Health Center

The campus has an exclusive health Center which is open to all the students and staff from 9 am to 7 pm. An Ambulence is stationed at the Health center to meet any emergencies.

Hostel

A home away from home’, is the concept of hostels in RVCE. We provide the best possible comfort needed for students. The number of students accomodated in a room depends on the semester. As the concentration and privacy required is more as a student progresses to final year accordingly the accomodation is provided. There are three mess facilities one for first year and the other two for seniors. There are exclusive Vegetarian mess facilities. The hostelites are provided sports, gymnasium and browsing facilities.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, commonly known as NEET UG, will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 3, 2020. Along with the exam date, NTA has also announced the NEET 2020 important dates relating to registrations, admit card and result. NEET 2020 application form and official notificationhas been released on December 2, 2019. The eligible candidates can register for NEET exam till December 31, 2019.

Through a press conference on October 4, 2019, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, announced that the admission to 1205 AIIMS and 200 JIPMER undergraduate (MBBS) seats will be done on the basis of scores obtained in NTA NEET 2020. Thus, candidates willing for admission to AIIMS and JIPMER institutes will be required to fill NEET application form 2020 on or before the due date. With this, the boom in the number of registrations is expected in NEET academic session 2020-21, to grab a seat in around 76,928 MBBS and 26,949 BDS seats available in 532 medical as well as 313 dental colleges across India. Last year, aprox 15 lakh students appeared for NEET.

In case of any discrepancies in the application form of NEET 2020, the authority will open the facility of correction window in the second week of January. The medical students can edit/delete/modify the specified fields in the form within the last date. The applications accepted by NTA after the completion of correction window, can download NEET admit card 2020 from March 27, onwards. NEET 2020 question paper will contain as many as 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany+Zoology). NEET official answer key 2020 will be released in the last week of May to calculate the marks to be scored by candidates.

NTA will declare NEET UG result 2020 by June 4. Only aspirants securing the minimum qualifying percentile will be considered qualified. NEET 2020 cutoff is the percentile to be secured to qualify the entrance test. Out of 14,10,755, as many as, 7,97,042 candidates had qualified in the offline exam in 2019. Using the qualifying percentile, the authority will prepare the merit list. Based on the All India Rank (AIR) in NEET merit list, qualified students will be called for NEET counselling 2020 process for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ), 85% State Quota seats, Deemed/Central universities, private institutes, ESIC and AFMS colleges. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct NEET UG counselling for allotment in 15% AIQ seats and100% seats from Deemed/Central universities and other ESIC as well as AFMS colleges. The admission to MBBS and BDS seats through NEET UG will be done on the basis of rank secured, preferences of courses as well as colleges, availability of seats, reservation criteria and other factors. While the remaining 85% state quota seats will be allotted by the respective state counselling committees on the basis of NEET UG scores.

NEET Elligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of NEET 2020 stipulates the minimum requirements candidates need to meet in order to appear for the exam. The regulations are laid as below:

• Nationality:- Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and Foreign Nationals are eligible to take NEET 2020.
• Age Limit:- The age limit has for now been waived off as per the latest Supreme Court judgement. For 2020, NTA has not yet given any age limit. Any updates on this will be available here as soon as it is announced The lower age limit however is 17 years as on the date of admissions or by December 31, 2020. Candidate who complete 17 years by then will be eligible for the exam and admissions.
• Educational Qualification:- Candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination and must have scored a minimum of 50% in Chemistry, Biology and Physics in each and in aggregate too.Plz Note Biology should not be additional subject in 12th but in the main subjects opted by candidate in 12th class.
  
  Reserved category candidates must score at least 40% while PwD candidates are required to score a minimum of 45% in the qualifying exam.
• Number of Attempts:- There is no limit to the number of attempts that a candidate can appear as long as he/she fulfills other eligibility criteria of NEET 2020.

  NEET 2020 will conducted in offline mode where candidates are provided with an OMR sheet to put their responses in. The question paper of NEET will contain three sections, namely Biology (Botany+Zoology), Physics and Chemistry. The detailed exam pattern of NEET 2020 is mentioned below.

NEET 2020 Admit Card

National Testing Agency will issue the NEET admit card from March 27, 2020, onwards, at ntaneet.nic.in in online mode. Candidates have to login to download the admit card of NEET as it will not be sent by any other means. The NEET 2020 admit card is a mandatory identity document which needs to be carried to the examination hall on the exam day. Candidates must enter their application number, date of birth and provided security pin with them in order to access the admit card. Once the hall ticket is displayed, students must download it for verification purposes.

NEET-UG Counselling Procedure for AIQ 2020

NEET-UG counselling procedure is divided into two categories, i.e., AIQ Counselling and State-Level Counselling. All the NEET-UG qualifiers are eligible for AIQ counselling, and 15% of seats in all the medical colleges across the country are reserved for AIQ (All India Quota). Candidates aspiring to participate in NEET AIQ counselling can check the step-by-step process for the same here. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the authority to conduct the NEET-UG counselling process for AIQ seats.

Step 1 – New Candidate’s Registration
NEET-UG qualifiers can visit the official website of MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) to register for AIQ counselling process. The registration is applicable for admission in MBBS/ BDS seats in government and private medical colleges across the country under All India Quota. After visiting the official website of MCC, the candidates will have to click on UG medical counselling. Click on the link that indicates ‘New Registration’. The following details must be entered in the New Registration Form of NEET-UG AIQ counselling –

After entering the above details, the candidates must create a password. The password should have 8-13 characters, and the password must contain ‘One Capital Letter’, ‘One Small Letter’, ‘One Numeric’ and ‘One Special Character’. After submitting the above details, the candidates will receive an OTP on their mobile. Enter the OTP to complete the registration process.

Step 2 – Take the Printout of Registration Slip
After the confirmation of registration, the candidates can see all the details on the screen. The candidates will have to keep the registration slip for future reference. The registration slip will help the candidates to have a track of personal details, login id and password.

Step 3 – Registered User Login
Once the registration is complete, the candidates can log in on the official website with their ‘Login Credentials’. The NEET-UG Roll Number will be the user name and Password will be the same that was created by the candidates during the new registration process.

Step 4 – Filling Choices
Once the candidates ‘Login’ on the official website, they can click on the option that indicates ‘Choice Available’. The server automatically displays the choices available for candidates. Check the list of colleges and click on ‘Choice Filling’ option. Click on ‘+’ to select the choice. You can change the priority number of choice by clicking on Upper Arrow or Down Arrow.

Step 5 – Mock Allotment
Once the candidates submit the choices on the official website of MCC, the authority will release the mock seat allotment on the specified dates. The mock seat allotment will help the candidates to find out whether they can get a seat as per their preference or not.

Step 6 -Choice Locking
The candidate is sure about the choices filled and mock allotment, he/she has to Lock the Choices within the specified and date. The candidates will be considered for seat allotment only after locking the choices. Once the choices are locked by the candidates, it is not possible to unlock or change the choices. The candidates can also take the printout of locked choices.

NEET-UG 2020 State-Wise Counselling Process (85% State Quota)
Apart from the NEET-UG AIQ counselling process, NEET-UG qualifiers of various states can participate in the state-level counselling process and compete for 85% state quota seats.
Similarly Counselling for Deemed Universities for 100% of the seats (including NRI’s, as applicable through respective state regulation) is carried out, the registeration for Deemed Univ counselling has to be carried out separately & choices as per ones preference needs to be filled.One must check the Courses, fee structure of each deemed univ before opting for it. Also check if any rural practice is also bound to be done in each deemed univ. Choices should be filled very carefully and each step should be taken as per the schedule.
